Meet Dr. Adolfo
I am Dr. Adolfo Montemayor Alatorre, Otorhinolaryngologist with High Specialty in Oncologic Head and Neck Surgery with focus in benign and malignant thyroid tumors.
My studies of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery were performed at the University Hospital “Dr. José Eleuterio González” of the UANL (Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León) and my studies of High Specialty in Surgical Oncology of the Head and Neck were performed in Mexico City at the “Hospital Juárez de México” of the UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México). In addition to my training in Mexico, I completed a Mini-Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta and an observership at Weill Cornell Medical Center of the Sean Parker Institute for the Voice in New York. Recently, I was accredited in Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology by the International Federation of Head and Neck Oncologic Societies (IFHNOS) and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Currently, in addition to my private practice, I am a clinical professor at the Hospital Zambrano Hellion (TecSalud), and professor of undergraduate and graduate residency in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at the Hospital Universitario UANL. Additionally, I am a member of the oncology committee of head and neck tumors at the Hospital Universitario Dr. José Eleuterio González, as well as the oncology committee of head and neck tumors at the Hospital Zambrano Hellion. I am also a member of the American Thyroid Association (ATA).
Why choose Dr. Adolfo?
In addition to his training, skill and technical precision, a must for every surgeon, Dr. Adolfo strives to ensure that every patient feels at ease, from the moment they walk through his office door to weeks and months after surgery as they enjoy their results. In addition to being an otolaryngologist, he is also a head and neck oncology surgeon, which is an advantage for his patients.
What sets Dr. Adolfo apart is his compassion and ability to connect with his patients, listen to their concerns and recommend the appropriate procedures the patient needs to achieve their goals without pressuring or trying to sell anything, and this trust is increased by doing his best to exceed the patient’s expectations.
“For me it is important to listen to my patients and make them feel at home.”
Dr. Adolfo demonstrates a commitment to excellence and a keen attention to detail, as he understands that the little things make a big difference to his patients. His focus is on doing the best he can to exceed patient expectations and providing treatment options so that his patients can make the choices that best suit their needs and lifestyle.
“My goal is to develop innovative ways to make surgery safer and more effective. I am a pioneer in northern Mexico in performing the minimally invasive surgical technique: Transoral Endoscopic Thyroidectomy with Vestibular Approach (TOETVA), which allows patients to go home sooner, recover more quickly and live without scars caused by their thyroid disease.”
